Our product line has two levels of Peels. The first Peel is a safe four-step medium-depth chemical peel containing a combination of lactic, salicylic, and citric acids plus trichloroacetic acid (TCA) combined with natural moisturizers. The Extra Strength Peel is an advanced peel for skin resistance to medium-depth peels.

How does Chemical Peel Work?

CHEMICAL PEEL remove dead skin cells and stimulate cell regeneration, collagen, and elastin growth in the deeper layers of the skin.

What are the benefits of a Chemical Peel?

By removing the old and damaged skin, the complexion develops a more youthful appearance.

Chemical Peels also bring whiteheads and blackheads to the surface, clearing skin faster.

They lighten brown spots and patches on the face and body for a more even-toned skin.

Can Chemical Peels be used on all skin types?

CHEMICAL PEEL can be safely used on all skin types and tones. However, the procedure may need to be modified for darker complexions by lengthening the preconditioning time and incorporating  Bleaching Cream or Bleaching  Serum into your skincare regimen.

Can I have a peel if I am prone to Herpes labialis?

People with frequent perioral Herpes labialis (Herpes simplex; Cold sore; Fever blister) should consult their physician before the peel as they may need a prescription for antiviral medication.

Can I have a peel if I am pregnant or if I am nursing?

No. Wait until after you deliver or complete nursing before treating yourself to a Peel.

Can I have a ProPeel if I am using Accutane?

No. The skin doesn’t heal as well when undergoing Accutane therapy. Wait two months after you have completed your course of Accutane to have a Peel.

What should I do before the Peel?

For optimal results, precondition with professional home care products recommended by the skincare professional according to the following chart:

Fitzpatrick Skin Types and Length of Preconditioning

  • Type I (very white or freckled) 4-6 weeks
  • Type II (white) 6-8 weeks
  • Type III (white to olive) & Type IV (brown) 8-12 weeks
  • Type V (dark brown) & Type VI (black) 12-16 weeks

How long does a Peel take?

It takes less than the time for a facial: 15-30 minutes.

What are the preparatory steps?

Remove your makeup, jewelry and contact lenses prior to the treatment. You will be provided with a fan for cooling. Chemical Peels consist of four steps.

  • Step I is a modified Resorcinol-Free Jessner solution.
  • Step II is a mild TCA and Salicylic Acid peel.
  • Step III is a stronger TCA and Salicylic Acid peel for use on resistant skin types.
  • Step IV is a patented Vitamin A Propionate conditioning lotion used to blend Steps I, II, and III.

What does my skin look like after CHEMICAL PEEL?

Immediately after the Peel, the skin may look sun¬burned. The next day it may appear darker and feel tight. On days 2-3 the skin will start to peel. By days 5-7, the skin will have completely finished the peel. Proper post-peel care is critical. You must use the recommended Post-Peel Treatment Kit for best results.

Can I wear makeup immediately after a ProPeel?

Yes, but first hydrate the skin with your moisturizers to mat down the peeling; then, you will be able to use your makeup. This flaking is temporary and the skin will return to normal in 5 to 7 days.

Can I go in the sun after a Peel?

Yes, but you must protect your new skin with Day Treatment Lotion SPF 15 and protective clothing when exposed to the sun. Protecting your skin with a moisturizing sunscreen is an integral part of all peel regimens.

Can I have a Peel If I am using Vitamin A products?

Yes. Conditioning the skin with Vitamin A for several weeks prior to having a Peel is an important step in achieving the most effective results. Be sure to tell your skin care professional if you are using Vitamin A. Your skin care professional may request that you discontinue the Vitamin A for a short time before the peel if your skin is peeling excessively.

How often can I have a Peel?

The Peel is done every 4 to 8 weeks for people with sun damaged skin, acne problems, or uneven pigment. A series of 4 to 6 Peels is recommended for maximum effectiveness. The more Peels you have, the better your complexion will appear.
